Enhancing Quality and Efficiency in Circular Economy
We run automated, digitized lines with AI-assisted quality and maintenance—built to process materials reliably when conventional equipment cannot.
Our Story
Global estimates commonly place annual plastic production at more than 400 million tons and in many cases above 450 million tons. Yet less than 10% is recycled, and in practical reuse terms the figure is often closer to 5-6%, much of it post-industrial scrap created during production rather than true post-consumer recovery.
Post-consumer plastics are harder to separate because different materials are mixed together after use, which is why so much still goes to landfill, where degradation can take about 500 years. Incineration is often treated as the alternative, but that comes with carbon emissions and other toxic gases. Makaan was formed around the idea that better production technology can help more difficult materials stay in productive use.
We manufacture film, sheeting, and bag programs from 4 inches to 40 feet wide, with 25-100% post-consumer recycled blend options, virgin material from 75-0%, and FDA or non-FDA structures depending on application needs.
Manufacturers and suppliers are under growing pressure from customers, climate commitments, and government regulation to make packaging more recyclable, biodegradable, and circular. Makaan is being built to respond to that direction with practical production capability.
Packaging Direction
Packaging Is Moving Toward Recyclable, Biodegradable, and Circular Solutions
By 2032, much of the single-use packaging sold in California and other states will need to be recyclable, biodegradable, or compostable. That shift is accelerating demand for better film design, recyclable structures, and biodegradable alternatives where application fit makes sense.
Advances in sustainable packaging are increasingly centered on biodegradable films and recyclable materials. The direction is clear: packaging has to do its job while fitting the circular economy more effectively than traditional single-use systems.
What This Means for Makaan
Functional Films, Not Commodity Plastics
Our business is also about specialty plastic that provides functionality and purpose. We formulate films and bags for protection, preservation, handling, and performance in real operating environments.

Agriculture
Biodegradable Mulch Film with Measurable Field Value
This is one of the biggest returns on investment when switching to innovative mulch, because it requires far less labor and eliminates removal costs. That is a major operational advantage in vegetable production.
Composting and biodegradability tests help ensure that biodegradable mulch used in vegetable production meets required environmental parameters. It must be 90% biodegraded into carbon and water within two years after plowing into the soil.
The remaining 10% becomes microbial biomass, including bacteria and fungi that help decompose organic matter into the soil. That makes biodegradable mulch an environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative to regular plastic mulch.
Circular Economy
Turning Waste to Value Under One Roof
Put together the right material recovery, production technology, and product design, and plastic can become part of a circular economy that makes useful products out of waste materials instead of consuming new natural resources every time.
When more stages of the recycling and manufacturing process happen under one roof, local jobs are created and the travel, handling, and emissions needed to turn a broken piece of plastic into a useful product can be reduced.
