Our Plastics Journey:
The Road to a Sustainable Future

Instead of throwing used plastic away, what if we could build something useful with it? Makaan Sustainable Plastics is built around that question, combining circular-material thinking with modern production capability for films, sheeting, bags, and specialty plastic products.

Plastic pollution is a global problem that cannot be solved simply by changing consumer behaviour. It needs to be addressed systemically, with better material recovery, better manufacturing, and better products that keep used plastic in productive use instead of waste streams.

Waterways and Oceans

Each year, roughly 21 million to 25 million tons of plastic enter waterways. Global estimates also suggest around 20 million tons leak into aquatic ecosystems, polluting lakes, rivers, and seas.

Landfill, Incineration, and Litter

Global recycling remains under 10%, while about 46% of plastics end up in landfills — which are notorious for planet-warming methane pollution — and much of the rest is incinerated or lost as litter. Landfill can hold material for centuries, and incineration releases carbon dioxide and other toxic gases.

Human and Environmental Impact

Poor waste management does not only harm the environment. Tiny plastic particles have been found in remote ecosystems and in the human body, including brains, lungs, and placentas. Recent studies have linked microplastics to an increased risk of heart attack and stroke, making plastic pollution a serious public-health issue.

Control systems

Process screens and machine controls support monitoring, stability, and uptime.

The world does not need more waste. It needs systems that turn broken, mixed, and difficult post-consumer plastics into useful products again. Even a meaningful reduction in waste and unnecessary plastic consumption over the next decade would already be a real victory.

Makaan facility operations

Built for Circular Manufacturing

Put it all together and it becomes part of a circular economy that makes products out of waste materials rather than new natural resources, while helping reduce transport, emissions, and landfill waste.

Advanced Production Systems

State-of-the-art machines with a high degree of automation and digitization help us improve quality, throughput, and process consistency.

Material Flexibility

Various materials that standard machines struggle to process can be handled through modern high-tech extrusion and control systems.

Circular Manufacturing

Our focus is to turn waste to value by keeping recycled material in productive use instead of sending it to landfill, incineration, or waterways.

Specialty Formulation

We build functionality into plastics through additive packages and chemical formulation matched to the customer requirement.
